COMMISSARY COURT OF ST ANDREWS DEEDS, 1700-1809

[There are gaps in the Register of Deeds for this period, from Nov 1726-Dec 1754 and Apr 1772-Jan 1778. We have used the few warrants in CC20/13 to help fill these missing years; also a substantial number of Commissary Deed warrants from c 1770-1809 are to be found in St Andrews University Library, mixed up with Burgh Deeds warrants. They are to be found in the St Andrews Burgh Records, B65/22, Boxes 33-37. These also have been included here. We have also noted the location of the Warrants in this abridgement. Note that the Minute Book of Deeds (CC20/12) and the Index of Deeds (CC20/14) is based solely on the Deed Registers, and therefore are flawed]
