MEMBERS' INTERESTS FORM

INSTRUCTIONS

 

In order to make it easier for to input the information, we would be

obliged if members would read the following instructions before filling

in their Members' Interests form.


Surname

Enter one surname per line. Different spellings of same surname can be

entered in the same line (separated with the / symbol) or separate lines

- for example if the two spellings start with different letters it would

be a good idea to put them on different lines. Do not enter christian

names.

 

Years

Use one of the following formats

A particular year 1800

A range of years 1845-1900

A particular century 1800s

Before a certain date pre 1800

After a certain date 1800+

All years, or unknown date leave blank

 

Place

In general, only one place should be entered per line. However, if the

family lived in more than one place in the same county, you could use

the format Kirkcaldy/Dysart, with a maximum of three places. Places in

different counties should be on separate lines. If interested in the

whole county, leave this blank.

 

County and country

Chapman codes should be used as follows:

If you are interested in all occurrences of a name, e.g. for a one-name study, leave the Place and County blank and enter All for the Country.
