* Where only a year is given a search will be done within that year, but if it is for a common name in a large parish(which could produce 20 or 30 entries) then this certificate will not be transcribed. A full refund will be given and, if you wish, this search can be done provided further information(e.g. parents' names) is available. The cost of this will be negotiated depending on the size of the search.

** Cheques should be made payable to:Fife Family History Society and posted to:

HEATHER FINDLAY, 139 RAVENSCRAIG, KIRKCALDY, FIFE. KY1 2PY

Whilst every effort will be made to ensure the accuracy of all transcriptions it must be remembered that transcribers have no intimate knowledge of your genealogy. There is therefore bound to be some occasions where information transcribed will prove to be irrelevant to your research.

In addition genuine errors of transcription may occur from time to time not least because of the poor quality of certain certificates and the vagaries of handwriting etc.
